| All Saints Youth Put on a Great Show. |
|

For some of our young people at All Saints, the summer holidays were not washed out with rain and spent sitting in front of the television! They had an idea to raise some money for our 'Lighten Up' project to do a talent show. They organised themselves to practise several times each week and put on a great show for the audience. It certainly brought some welcome cheer on what must have been the wettest day since when Noah had built the ark!

Along with some group and solo singing, there was displays of dance and drumming and during the interval Rachel (Youth Leader) and Patrick (Choir Master) did a couple of songs for the audience. For those who went this certainly was an hour full of colour, music and bundles of energy! In total, the event raised over £130. |
| Children learn of Christian values |

Above you can see both the older and younger members of our congregation get together to hear the Gospel. After the Gospel they usually like to get involved in physical activites to help them relate to the main message of the day. Here they learn about focus and having goals, without which you can't have targets. A novel idea is to help them play mini golf as seen below;
Here you can see Naomi having a go with her goal in sight.
The older children often go out to do different activities or to take part in discussions relevant to the Gospel and Bible teachings. They usually take part in discussions that are more relevant to their age group. |

There are many ways to encourage children to learn about the Gospel.

Below is a recent piece of art created by the children at our Sunday Circle.

The Calling of the First Disciples
As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." At once they left their nets and followed him. (Matthew 4:18-20 NIV)

The Sunday School teachers and the children are currently preparing and practising for a new play called God's Story.
It will be filmed and presented to the congregation this year, then be available to watch on the web. This is a new venture and everyone is quite excited about it. |

Mark 4:30-34
The Parable of the Mustard Seed
Again he said, "What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest seed you plant in the ground. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds of the air can perch in its shade." With many similar parables Jesus spoke the word to them, as much as they could understand. He did not say anything to them without using a parable. But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything. |
